Why is the CCO focused on minorities and women?

The CCO recognizes that we have a potential shortage of skilled workers and contractors in central Illinois to meet the projected demand over the next decade. Therefore a goal of the CCO is to build capacity. Currently minorities and women are underrepresented in the construction trades and therefore provide the greatest opportunity for capacity building.
